What to do when they’re not opening your emails
First, panic not my friends. Take a deep breath. Step away from the email results and have a snack.
Time for a reality check.
- They did read it, it’s just not showing up in your metrics.
- You’re still getting their attention just by showing up.
- You’re showing your consistency which is super important. It says, “I publish this newsletter regularly. I didn’t abandon it just like I won’t abandon you as my client.
The key here is to look at things in the long term. Every newsletter is a brick in the wall separating you from the competition. And it’s bringing you one step closer to dominating your industry.
Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it’s not there. The one moment you think things aren’t working and that you should give up, things change just a few moments days or weeks later.
Lesson on How to Wait Actively
It’s just like the story of the prophet Daniel. He asked God to help him understand a message. He had to wait 21 days and he wouldn’t eat any fancy food or wine until he understood what was going on. On the 21st day a messenger came and gave him the understanding he was looking for. He had been held up by the king of the Persian kingdom. An angel, Michael, came to help get him out of there and he arrived to give Daniel the message.
You may have been waiting 21 days or 21 months. But what you do while you wait is just as important as the end result you want so badly.
Passion Trumps Disappointment Every Time
My message to you: Hold on. Believe when you are sending out your newsletters that influential people are watching to see if you’re consistent and if you’ll do what you say you will do. Will you? Or will you give up and not show up?
Those who are really passionate about what they do will do it no matter who is looking. The external rewards they receive are icing on the cake. Sweet icing. Chocolate icing. Magically non-fattening icing. The best icing the world has ever seen.
Keep going. Even when you don’t see what’s ahead. Keep going. Enjoy the journey. Keep going.
